I'd read a lot of great things about the Tube-Trap before I had a chance to try them out for myself, I can gladly say that they do all they say they will do.
After doing the figures and finally measuring my acoustic space [once the space had taken shape], I ordered six 55Hz tuned elements for the rear corners of my room [3 stacked per side]. The acoustic measurements after installation were excellent to say the least, even walking past them into the open door of my machine room highlighted how effective they are [LF is almost nonexistent in this room].
The Tube-Trap is definitely not cheap, at almost $2,000 per element they cost us close to $12,000 for our space, but they definitely do the job... and the added feature of the built in diffusion grid made these an invaluable addition.
As you can see in the above diagram, the tube-trap is packed with features, check out the ASC website for more details.
I strongly recommend investing in decent acoustic treatment, it seems to be the most overlooked part of the professional audio industry. Having a decent acoustic environment will give your mixing or mastering results a huge boost. While we're on the subject I'd also recommend NOT buying too much acoustic foam, it generally does not perform in the mid and low frequencies, sucking the life out of your room and leaving a boomy, bottom heavy space.
