The Crane Song HEDD 192 is a mastering quality reference set of Analogue to Digital, and Digital to Analogue converters running up to 192K and 24 bit. We use this piece as the backbone of our analogue mastering chain and the reference clock to our digital systems. Added to these amazing converters are a set of "Harmonically Enhanced Digital" effects... giving a very accurate representation of the harmonic distortion that is inherent within a Pentode or Triode Tube [or Valve, or Lamp, or whatever else you'de like to call them], and the audio side effects of tape compression. It's not something we use very much, but a touch here and there can really can hit the spot on the right material.
Crane Song HEDD features:
- High Quality 24 Bit A/D and D/A Convertors
- 24 Bit Processing
- Adjustable Triode, Pentode and Tape sounds
- Digital I/O, AES and S/PDIF
- External WC Sync Input and Output
- 192K sample rates
HEDD has transformerless balanced analog inputs and outputs, transformer isolated digital inputs and outputs, and uses separate power transformers and supplies for the analog and digital sections.
